About Mazzi-Inc.

Developing people. Strengthening organisations.

Organisations are becoming increasingly diverse and international. People work together from different cultural, professional and personal perspectives. This can enrich collaboration, but it can also lead to misunderstandings, difficult decision-making, tensions and leadership challenges.

At Mazzi-Inc., we help organisations navigate these challenges. Not by removing cultural differences, but by developing the skills people need to understand, discuss and make use of them.

Who is Mazzi-Inc.?

Mazzi-Inc. specialises in intercultural competence and its application within organisations.

Our work is built around two closely connected areas. On the one hand, we develop intercultural competence in professionals, teams and leaders through training in Cultural Awareness, Intercultural Collaboration and Intercultural Leadership. On the other hand, we apply these same skills to organisational challenges, for example when collaboration, leadership and organisational culture need to better support an organisation's strategic ambitions.

That combination is central to who we are.

Our history goes back to 2014, when we started in the Netherlands as Akteos. Over the years, we have worked with a wide range of organisations, leaders and teams on challenges involving international collaboration, communication, leadership and culture. Along the way, we discovered that the skills people need to collaborate effectively across cultural boundaries are much more broadly applicable.

Cultural differences are only one part of what shapes how people see the world and work together. Professional experience, disciplines, generations and personal perspectives matter too.

That is why our work is about more than understanding culture. It is about developing the human skills people need when they encounter perspectives that challenge what they have taken for granted.

From intercultural competence to organisational culture.

This development has also changed the way we look at organisations.

Collaboration and culture are closely connected. Organisational culture emerges to a large extent through the daily interactions between people: in how they communicate, make decisions, solve problems, deal with differences of opinion and respond when situations do not unfold as expected.

These skills are useful far beyond working well across cultural differences. When people learn to communicate, collaborate and lead differently, they can also help shape the culture of their organisation. In this way, developing people can help create the culture needed to turn strategy into practice.

This is the foundation of our Skills-Based Approach to Cultural Change.

That is why we deliberately connect the development of people with the development of organisations. When people learn to look at situations differently and act differently, the patterns in their daily collaboration can change as well. And when these new patterns are repeated over time, they can become part of the organisational culture.

What we stand for.

We believe that the quality of collaboration, communication and leadership is strongly influenced by people's ability to work effectively with cultural differences. Differences in perspective, background, experience and ways of working are a natural part of organisational life. The question is how people respond when their own way of seeing or acting is no longer the obvious one.

That is why we focus on developing the skills that help people act effectively in such situations. We help professionals, teams and leaders recognise their own assumptions, understand other perspectives and consciously choose how they communicate, collaborate and lead. Not as theoretical knowledge, but as skills that become visible in everyday practice.

This development also affects the organisation as a whole. The way people interact with one another influences the behavioural patterns that emerge within an organisation. By deliberately developing communication, collaboration and leadership, organisations can change these patterns and build a culture that supports their strategy.

That is what Mazzi-Inc. stands for: connecting the development of people with the development of organisations, so that cultural differences do not stand in the way of results, but contribute to better collaboration, stronger leadership and sustainable organisational development.
